LandSAR recently released a draft policy and procedures document for the establishment of a National Incident Management Team (or NIMT) for consultation and discussion. Constructive feedback was received from a number of LandSAR and Police personnel which has prompted LandSAR to make some changes to the original proposal. It was apparent the name NIMT did not reflect the true intent of the proposal so one obvious change has been to rename it, and we believe the Search Management Support Group (SMSG) will hopefully capture the essence of what we are trying to achieve, however we are open to other suggestions. Consequently another iteration of the policy document for further consultation and discussion is attached.
