POST INCIDENT REVIEWS
In late 2010 LandSAR developed a Post Incident Review Process (PIRP).  This was an attempt to ensure that should we need to review our actions or activities in support of a major activity internally then we had the ability to do so.

Operation West
The development of that process was fortuitous as in February/March of 2011 over 500 LandSAR volunteers were deployed nationally for the first time in New Zealand.  The deployment, called Operation West, was in support of the people of Christchurch following the tragic earthquake.  LandSAR believed there were many lessons to be learned from this deployment and as a result formulated a terms of reference, membership and key partner questionnaires and completed the first ever PIRP.

The final recommendations and complete record of PIRP meetings are contained in a document which can be found at this link
